A personal bio from Simran:
“Your body’s innate ability to heal is far greater than anyone has permitted you to believe”
-Massimo Rosati
Hello and welcome, I am Simran Gosain from Bangalore, India. I am a certified Holistic Health Coach, Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, a Culinary Nutrition Expert and an Autoimmune specialist. This means I help people overcome their gut issues and hormonal imbalances, manage their weight, blood-sugar levels and overall health by nourishing and nurturing their own body. I train people to listen to their body and tap its innate potential to self-heal, so they can stop fighting symptoms, get to the root cause of the problem and begin a healing process–of the body, by the body and for the body–to restore physical and mental health.
My entry into the field of nutritional science was inspired by my own battle with health problems, trailing way back into my childhood. I was never a happy child, always crying, complaining, bitter and dissatisfied. As I treaded through adolescence, I underwent clinical depression and anxiety. My behavioral issues were thought to be part of my character, and nobody realized that they were a reflection of internal ill health. I was anemic by the time I touched 25 years, and the weakness carried on through my pregnancy, my husband having to donate blood to me when I had my son. A few years down the line, I was struck by excruciating abdominal pains during menstrual cycles, and was diagnosed with low hemoglobin. The search for a cure led to a gynecologist who put me on birth control pills! These pills had side effects of their own–a lot of gut issues, weight gain and hormonal imbalance, but the actual cause of the pain remained unknown. My system began to snap–inflammation, panic attacks, irritability, frustration, anger, food cravings, adrenal issues, brain fog, insomnia, and no doctor to really help. I felt like a lonely traveler lost in the sands of time. It made no sense being in this world, suffering like this. So I quit.
I quit looking for external solutions to internal problems. I realized that I am 100% responsible for my own health. I learnt to trust my body. I began to listen, to the only person who has been through all my problems––me. I was a total junky, and needed to get off junk food and clean up my system before I could see any positive difference. I started making lifestyle changes. Holistic Nutrition Lab Full Body Systems guided me throughout.
The experience was amazing, and every little improvement injected life into me. It took me to 40 years to understand who I am and what I want from this journey of mine.
But when I finally did, I not only found a cure, I found my passion, calling, and purpose–in nutrition.
I completed my professional designation courses from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (New York), Academy of Culinary Nutrition (Toronto, Canada) and Holistic Nutrition Labs Portland (Oregon, USA). Today, I work with women and men, adults, children and adolescents, and to see them recover to the peak of their health, it boosts my motivation every day, and pushes me harder towards My Mission––to empower a person to be an agent of their own change by tuning in, understanding and listening to what their body is telling them
